Type I ultrapure (18 megOhm-cm) water is subjected to ultrafiltration to eliminate RNase, DNase, protease, pyrogens/endotoxins (< 0.001 EU/mL) and bacteria (< 1 cfu/mL). The product is not certified as sterile, and is therefore not recommended for cell culture. Water, Ultrapure Molecular Biology Grade is free of toxic chemical additives, such as diethyl pyrocarbonate (DEPC).
