Why Mic is the only qPCR cycler you need

speed Speed

The Mic real time PCR cycler uses a patented magnetic induction technology to heat and fan forced air for cooling. This means fast quantitative real time PCR PCR through rapid heating and cooling, with 35 cycles possible in under 25 minutes.

Back that up with a robust optical system that acquires all channels simultaneously. Running multiplexed qPCR assays has never been quicker. The Mic real-time PCR cycler is available in either 2 or 4 channel models.

Each channel uses an independent high intensity LED, photodetector, and filter set combined to give unparalleled detection performance. With a fixed optical path and no moving parts, there is never any optical alignment or calibration required with the Mic qPCR instrument. Even better is that no reference dyes or crosstalk compensation are needed.

accuracy Accuracy

Mic delivers unrivalled reproducibility between samples, runs and instruments. Real time PCR cycler replicates have never looked so good, and detection of two-fold differences in gene expression levels never easier.

Why wait to run 384 samples? Get your results now and have the confidence your datasets can be seamlessly combined using our Projects analysis software. Comparing samples between multiple runs or even multiple instruments is effortless.

The Mic qPCR cycler incorporates a unique spinning aluminium rotor that has unsurpassed temperature uniformity during both dynamic and static operations. This functionality allows it to achieve the highest level of quantification precision. All other block-based real-time PCR thermal cyclers only promise static uniformity. This can lead to variability as samples aren’t heated and cooled at the same rate.

Combine Mic’s temperature accuracy of ±0.25ºC with a first class well-to-well temperature uniformity of ±0.05ºC (HRM units). Add superior equilibration time of zero seconds for all wells and you can easily classify difficult class IV SNPs that require melt temperature resolutions of less than 0.1ºC.

You might think this level of performance requires constant calibration of your machine, but Mic’s good to go right out of the box.

You don’t need to calibrate – ever.

size Size

Mic takes up less space on the bench than your lab book. And weighing in at just 2kg, this is the most portable and compact qPCR machine on the market. Even four Mics stacked together take up less bench space than your current cycler.

Only magnetic induction technology by way of its elegant simplicity makes it possible to achieve such a small qPCR instrument footprint.

The Mic tube format uses 0.1mL strips of four tubes and matching caps, supporting volumes of 5 to 30µL. A tab on the first tube always ensures the correct orientation of tubes.

High speed centrifugation ensures samples spin down at the start of a run. While pre-loaded oil overlay inside each tube prevents evaporation and condensation. We have eliminated the need for bulky heated lids and external centrifuges whilst simultaneously improving the quality of results.

These benefits are only possible because of Mic real time PCR cyclers unique rotary and magnetic induction cycler technology. Take a minute to explore these research articles and see what Mic’s helped achieve already.

connectivity Connectivity

Multiple Mic real time PCR instruments can be operated from one workstation so 48 becomes 96, and 96 becomes 192. As many as 10 instruments can connect to one PC. Bluetooth technology means fewer cables, as well as seamless data transfer between the Mic qPCR cycler and the Myra liquid handler.

With the latest addition to Mic’s powerful software, it is easy to combine data from multiple runs from multiple machines into one dataset for analysis. Mic’s thermal and optical performance is so reproducible that your data will look like it was generated from the same real time PCR instrument.

Naturally, you want to be up and running as quickly as possible so installation for the instrument has been made plug-and-play. It’s as simple as installing the software and starting your first run.

Workbench | Software for Mic qPCR Cycler

Advanced automated statistical analysis to make your life easier.

Next generation qPCR analysis software that is user-friendly and packed with intelligent features.

Why wait long periods for results if you don’t have to? Mic PCR software allows you to see your results with detailed statistical analysis as soon as your run has completed.
Designed to meet MIQE specifications, our Mic PCR software offers you the most up-to-date qPCR analysis.

Prj icon Projects

Take advantage of Mic PCR machine’s modular functionality and amazing reproducibility by combining multiple runs from multiple instruments into one analysis. With the ability to combine up to 10 runs you can analyse up to 480 samples at one time.

Mic qPCR software utilises qPCR genotyping to compare DNA sequences in real time. Mic’s real time (RT) PCR software analysis provides a simpler system for genotyping, without sacrificing efficiency for reliability.

Access to Mic PCR software means there is now no need to wait for samples to be batched into one 96 or 384 well run. Quantitative real time PCR cyclers complete the runs at the time you need them done and see the results now, not later. Take advantage of our media features and analyse traffic accurately.

RQ icon Relative Quantification

Mic’s RQ software uses up-to-date mathematical models and well-founded statistical analysis, allowing you to accurately compare gene expression levels for different targets across multiple groups.

All the necessary calculations and statistics are carried out within the qPCR software. Data is reported both numerically and graphically.

With Mic’s superior thermal cycler temperature verification system you can easily detect differences between samples as little as 0.2 fold.

Use the Myra Liquid Handling System to easily setup all your Gene Expression RT-qPCR experiments.

Setup your assays, prepare your samples and master mixes then run Myra. Once the reactions are setup at the click of a button run the RT-qPCR on the Mic qPCR cycler and have the results automatically analysed at the end. Need to run more samples? No problem, just use Projects!

Watch this video to see just how easy it is to setup and run Relative Quantification on Mic and Myra.

HRM High Resolution Melting Analysis

Mic’s qPCR analysis software offers an optional HRM analysis application that characterises DNA samples according to their melt behaviour allowing you to clearly identify mutations. HRM is the perfect tool for applications including determining allele prevalence, screening for loss of heterozygosity, DNA fingerprinting, DNA methylation, species identification and calculating the ratio of somatic acquired mutations.

Even difficult Class IV SNPs are no problem for Mic PCR software – the example here clearly shows the A base allele (red), T base allele (blue) and the heterozygote (purple).

AQ Absolute Quantitation

Using a standard curve, the Mic PCR software’s AQ analysis application allows you to determine the absolute amount of a genetic target.

This five point, two fold dilution series produced an efficiency of 98%. The percentage variation between the given and calculated concentrations was no greater than 5% allowing for accurate quantification of the unknown sample.

Absolute-Quantitation.gif
Gen Genotyping

Mic PCR software delineates differential melt curves from various types of chemistries, including quenched FRET dual hybridization probes, beacon probes or Plexor. This information can be used to characterise a sample’s genotype by converting array data into visual and meaningful results. Melt peaks can be inverted to accommodate the different chemistry types.

Absolute-Quantitation.gif
AD Allelic Discrimination

Use Mic PCR software to determine genotypes using dual labelled hydrolysis probes. With each probe designed toward a genetic variant, classify each genotype by using real time amplification data. This feature is particularly useful for instances where only a handful of single nucleotide polymorphisms need to be screened in hundreds of samples.

Employ Use the Assay library design feature to set up your target alleles and allow the software to call the unknowns automatically at the touch of a button.

ID Identifier Analysis

The Identifier analysis uses a logic engine to help automate the identification of a target. The logic engine is a set of rules that will enable the qPCR software to make the identification.

Controls are also utilised to make appropriate decisions regarding the result of each sample and the run as a whole. These rules can be pre-defined for each target used in the assay individually or as a whole group of targets.

Identifier is a great tool for anyone wanting to do their own in-house diagnostics.

Utilising qPCR analysis software shouldn’t be time-consuming or overtly complex. Discover the difference with our lightweight PCR machine and detection system today.
